Priscilla Kibbee was involved in the Wearable Art scene since the late 1970's, designing and teaching quilted and wearable art clothing. Her outfit, "I'll Meet You at the Opera," won Best of Show at the prestigious Wearable Art Conference in Santa Fe, NM in 1999 where she subsequently taught.
Her garments have appeared in the 2000 Fairfield Fashion Show and the 2003, 2004, 2006 and 2007 Bernina Fashion Shows. She won numerous other ribbons, Best of Show and other awards for her innovative clothing. She taught at Quilting by the Lake in 2005 and 2007, as well as locally, nationally and internationally.
Her passions included: traveling, creating wearable art, reading, visiting museums and teaching. She traveled all over the world collecting textiles and sewing notions to include in her wearable art.
Priscilla loved sharing her knowledge with others and taught quilting and English to school children in Nepal. She also taught seminole patchworking to seamstresses in Thailand and Turkey.
Priscilla shared her purchases from her travels with many of us through her art sales and her teaching locally.
